Scars and open wounds

All eyes on Africa! At least for the few weeks of the  World Cup which is hosted by South Africa. Magnificent stadiums have been built. A lot of money – more than one billion dollars – has been spent. The country should look nice when the world is watching.

Today, the local newspaper has published an interview with Sepp Blatter, the FIFA’s lord, the football pope if you want so. They asked him if they would only show the high gloss pictures of South Africa or africa in general or whether they would also allow more questionable pictures to be broadcasted. Blatter, of course, denied that the FIFA would censor any pictures. Do we believe him? Will they show africa as it is? Will they show the scars and the open wounds? I highly doubt it.
